Setting Policies

There are many policy options in the General Ledger (GL) program, and they can be used to customize WinTen² programs to better match an HA’s work processes.

To access GL policies, click SETUP on the Main Menu screen, and then click POLICIES. The Browse Policies screenopens with all available policies displayed in a table.

Double-click on the policy you want to work with; or, highlight the policy in the table and click

to open the Maintain Policies screen.

After choosing the appropriate value, click OK to set the policy. The Browse Policies screen appears again with the newly set value displayed in the table.

Policy Summaries

Auto Generate Year End Closing Entries

Value: True or False

If you set this policy to True, the program will automatically generate year end closing entries each time a batch is accepted.

Automatically Perform Interfund Balancing

Value: True or False

If you set this policy to True, the program will automatically perform interfund balancing on all GL batches.

Print Fund Name/Fund Code on Financial Reports

Value: True or False

If you set this policy to True, the program will print the fund name on all financial reports.
If you set this policy to False, the program will print the fund code on all financial reports.

Setup Default Journal Code

Value: User-specific

In the value field, choose the default journal code that will be automatically selected when importing JE batches using the Import General Ledger Batch Wizard. See "Importing JE Batches (.xls format)" and See "Importing JE Batches (.txt format)"

Print Trial Balance in Portrait Format

Note: This policy applies to all trial balance reports except Trial Balance 2.

Value: True or False

If you set this policy to True, the program will automatically print the Trial Balance Report in portrait format.
